Charity Baseball Camp and Silent Auction
Seven of Oregon State University's College of Business students from "Management Field Practicum" were able to partner up with BASEbyPros, former Oregon State University baseball players, and current professional players to put on this charity event for the youth kids around Benton County. We also made a connection with Corvallis Community Outreach and were able to donate the $3400 that was raised from our event. Our goal was to provide the opportunity for the kids to learn the fundamentals of the game from some of the most talented players in the Northwest. They also taught the kids about the importance of education and hard work. This was a fun environment for the kids to have a great time while benefiting from the coaches expertise.
As a group we were able to implement the material that we learned in class and were able to demonstrate our project management skills. From the proposal of the plan and risk management and through to the clean up of the event there were many lessons learned. We were able to work together to accomplish the goals we set and successfully put on the event. We would like to thank the sponsors of the event as well as all the participants and Professor Larson for this opportunity.
